Professors in the UA College of Humanities shared music and topics related to Black History Month with KXCI Community Radio during the month of February.
Invited on air during KXCI’s Home Stretch program, the professors discussed their research and teaching and selected songs as guest DJs.
On Feb. 8, Praise Zenenga, director of the Africana Studies Program, spoke about pan-African unity.
On Feb. 15, Erika Gault, assistant professor of Africana Studies, spoke about black youth, religion and technology.
On Feb. 22, Tani Sanchez, associate professor of Africana Studies, spoke about inspirational songs from the Civil Rights era and beyond.
On Feb. 28, Alex Nava, professor of Religious Studies, spoke about God and hip-hop.
